“My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return.”
— Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou’s words inspire generations both young and old, and this (unfinished) song cycle reflects that journey of loving and accepting love in return while trying to find the words to communicate those feelings.  Set in a musical theater style, this edgy, realist song cycle is about love, pain, happiness, loss, but ultimately conversation.  Each song contains its own story, reflecting conversations in our culture that people either have or should be having, depending on the subject matter.  This song cycle aims to represent a snapshot of millennial life and how we cope with daily struggles that are timeless while also relevant to living in the 21st century.
